Eberhard "Ebbie" Bulach left war-torn Germany in 1951 at the age of 17 years to start a new life in the United States. He lived with his uncle and aunt in St. Paul, Minnesota. Relatives and new friends helped Ebbie assimilate into the American culture. Ebbie worked in the concrete construction business and as a machinist until striking out on his own as an entrepreneur. Eberhard and his wife, Erné, built a successful construction business during his career and they generously sponsor and promote activities that unite German and American cultures and friendships. A portion of the sales of this book is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Author Paul Hartman just turned 95 years old. He knows just when to encourage, when to quietly admonish, and when to speak through his life and not his words. A powerful example of this is the way he loved and cared for his wife. He constantly cared for her at home for 4 years. After she was moved to a care facility, he visited her every day for 2 years until she passed away. After that happened, Paul started writing down memories from his life to pass the time and keep from being lonely. He printed a small booklet of those stores in early 2017, but couldn't stop writing. My life didn't start out the greatest in the beginning but with the will to want more and most importantly God, things really can change. No one saw me becoming the man that I've become to be but yet here I am. This is not to glorify street life or anything negative, I'm simply telling my life as it happened and as I recall it. From a guy who was told I was unapproachable to a guy people love to be around today. I'm just happy the past is the past and AT LAST I ARRIVED.

It’s as simple as this, you have two options when given a second chance at life, do what you do best, and live your life only to let a substance kill you, or make that CHANGE. We do not all have to fall victim to this disease. We do recover.
